We’ll focus on the key kayaking techniques that make a difference, Driving the boat, catching eddies, ferry gliding, using the river to your advantage, and making smart dynamic decisions on the move.

You’ll also get a taste of essential safety skills to help you feel more comfortable and capable as part of a group

Working on Grade 1-2 white water, we’ll help you build strong foundations that lead to faster, smoother progression when you step up to harder grades.

• Kayak suitable for Whitewater

• Buoyancy aid suitable for white water

• Paddle

• Suitable Helmet

• Appropriate Paddling clothing (wetsuit/dry suit or splits ideally)

• Appropriate footwear (wet shoes)

• Any snacks and drinks for on the water

Requirements

• A roll is not necessary for this course. 

• This course requires the learners to be able to move a kayak around on flat water and have some experience of grade 1, this is not a complete introduction.

• participants should also be happy using a spray deck.

• All participants must be 18 or over
